ABA has awarded a $1,000 grant to the History Colorado Center in Denver, Colorado. The grant will be used to organize a new exhibition exploring Colorado's brewing history in an exhibition called, Beer Here! Colorado's Hoppy History. The exhibition. will run from summer 2019 to the fall of 2020, covering more than 150 years of Colorado brewing history. The History Colorado Center plans to exhibit dozens of regional Colorado breweriana artifacts giving visitors a chance to experience the unique material culture of Colorado's storied beer industry. ABA members Paul Rahne and Bill Frederick will be loaning some of their historical Colorado breweriana artifacts to the exhibition display. The Beer Here! exhibition will visit five separate historical eras of Colorado beer and brewing. These five eras range from the gold rush and mining saloon to Prohibition, postwar suburban growth, and recent craft brewing. Taken together, the five era sections will illuminate the experiences of a diverse array of people who called Colorado home, and by integrating items from famous brewers. |
